Items most commonly left behind in Glasgow Taxis
Glasgow Taxi drivers returned tens of thousands of items left behind in the back of cabs by customers during 2022, new figures revealed.
In a sign of the times, mobile phones and electronic cigarette devices are among the top five items most commonly lost or left by passengers using Glasgow Taxis.
Where it is possible, drivers return these immediately to the customer or, if that can’t be done, they are handed in to Police Scotland’s lost and found department.
The top five items left behind in a Glasgow Taxi in 2022, based on weekly averages, are:
- 3,125 mobile phones / smart devices
- 1,560 wallets or purses
- 1,300 sets of keys
- 1,040 jackets
- 520 vapes (electronic cigarettes)
While the top five list of items left behind this year contained few surprises if any, the oddest item left in the back of the cab this year has really cleaned up with that title – a bold Henry Hoover!
