Teppan-yaldi! Glasgow Taxis drivers feel the heat at Sapporo tasting
A group of Glasgow Taxis drivers were treated to a Japanese cooking masterclass at Sapporo Teppanyaki last night as the Ingram Street restaurant hosted the drivers for a special tasting session.
The drivers were treated to the full Teppanyaki experience, where chefs perform a myriad of tricks whilst cooking in front of guests, and some were even given the chance to show off their own culinary skills.
Speaking at the tasting, Stephen Flynn, vice-chair of Glasgow Taxis said: “Most of our drivers are more likely to have a sausage supper than sushi so it was a nice change for them! For a few of them, that was their very first time cooking so a Japanese masterclass at Sapporo was a bit of a shock to the system.
“Everybody had a brilliant time and the food is absolutely fantastic. We’ll definitely be back – some Teppanyaki mid-shift would go down a treat!”
