Glasgow Taxis launches advent calendar on wheels

Glasgow Taxis has partnered with businesses across the city to put an advent calendar on wheels for the festive season.

Yule be in for a treat this month if you flag down the unique Glasgow Taxi, which is dressed as a sleigh and chock-full of prizes.

Santa will be behind the wheel and will give away one of 24 incredible prizes – ranging from tickets for Glasgow 2018 to stays at some of Glasgow’s iconic hotels – to one lucky customer each day.

Glasgow Taxi driver Santa Claus, who is on a short-term contract for the month of December with the largest operator of licensed taxis in the UK outside London, said: “I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of a Glasgow Taxi for December.

“I’ve only checked my list once so far, but it looks like the people of the city have been very good this year! If you see the sleigh, ho-ho-honk your horn and say hello!”

So Santa can focus on his favourite topic of conversation, Christmas, he has advised customers that he is very busy (it’s an especially busy time of year for him) and he supports Lapland United.

Featuring in Glasgow’s ultimate advent calendar will be flights from airline Loganair, a shopping experience at St Enoch Centre and a year’s supply of IRN-BRU. There will also be the ultimate prize up for grabs via Glasgow Taxis Facebook and Twitter channels – just keep an eye on #glasgowgifting.

Speaking on behalf of the Glasgow Taxis executive committee, director Jack Ferguson said: “With our #glasgowgifting campaign, we want to give something back to our customers who are brilliant all year round. This Christmas, the priority for us will always be getting our customers home safely, but if we can give a gift along the way, then all the better.

“It’s a great opportunity to continue to partner with some brilliant businesses, such as The Butchershop Bar & Grill, Two Fat Ladies, The Principal Blythswood Square Hotel, Hotel Du Vin and Knock Castle Hotel and Spa, which we work alongside and have great relationships with all year round.”

• The 6^th passenger to ride in the ‘Santa’s-sleigh’ wrapped Taxi (registration T4XY C) each day will be given a prize.
• To enter the competition, participants are required to take a journey in Glasgow Taxis’ Santa’s-sleigh wrapped cab.
• Details of the prize will be published via Facebook.
• Glasgow Taxis accepts no liability for any loss, damage, injury or disappointment suffered by the winner resulting from the winner’s acceptance of and/or use of the Prize.
• The competition is limited to one prize per winner.
• Accepting a prize is deemed to be an acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
