Taxi school training

If you want to become a taxi driver with Glasgow Taxis Ltd, we provide valuable advice and training through our own taxi driver training course.

We provide all the information you need to pass Glasgow City Council’s taxi knowledge test.

That includes:

Tutoring you to pass the taxi test. 

Providing practice taxi knowledge test papers. 

Helping you to study the taxi knowledge.  

There are taxi training classes from Monday to Thursday, 7 pm to 9 pm, every week at our new headquarters:

Once you have passed your topographical test you will take our Essential Customer Care course, which must be taken by all Glasgow Taxis Ltd drivers.

After the test you will also go through an interview and take the MTData System Course, as well as being vetted through the Scottish Government’s Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.

Customer Care Course — open to all taxi drivers

Glasgow Taxis Ltd Customer Care Course is seen as the essential customer care service course for ALL Glasgow taxi drivers. The course was developed in partnership with Glasgow City Marketing Bureau and meets all licensing conditions relating to approved care courses. Recognised and approved by Glasgow City Council, the course is delivered at Glasgow Taxi headquarters on a monthly basis. It covers all aspects of customer care, including equality and diversity awareness, licence conditions and personal accounts. The course, in keeping with the high standards of Glasgow Taxis Ltd is delivered by approved trainers, all of whom are trained in teaching methods by a leading independent training agency. The course is open to all taxi drivers licensed by Glasgow City Council and places can be booked by contacting our administration office on 0141 554 2222. It costs £44.00.
